1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Flippy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Flippy is a PDF reader application that allows you to import, read, and annotate PDF documents with realistic page curl animations. The App offers both free and premium features.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Flippy offers optional auto-renewable subscription plans:

• Flippy Premium Monthly — billed monthly
• Flippy Premium Yearly — billed annually
• Flippy Pro Monthly — billed monthly (higher usage limits)
• Flippy Pro Yearly — billed annually (higher usage limits)

Subscription details:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the cost of the chosen plan.
• You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings on the App Store or Google Play after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

4. Premium Features

Premium and Pro subscribers get access to the following features, with usage limits varying by tier:

• AI Read-Aloud — text-to-speech powered by OpenAI
• AI Q&A and Summaries — powered by Anthropic's Claude API
• In-App Dictionary — word definitions powered by dictionaryapi.dev
• Cloud Sync — sync reading data across devices via Google Sign-In and Firebase
• All highlight colors — access to the full color palette

5. User Content

You retain all rights to the PDF documents you import into the App. Flippy does not claim ownership of your content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and use the documents you import.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or servers

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content (excluding user-imported documents), is the property of Flippy and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude API, Google Firebase, dictionaryapi.dev) for certain features, and with the Meta (Facebook) SDK on Android for ad install attribution. Your use of these features is also subject to the respective third-party terms and privacy policies. See Flippy's Privacy Policy for details on what data is shared.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flippy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
